Sato Hatsumi

My name is Hatsumi. I live in Shirahama, a city of beautiful sea and hot springs. I am not originally from Wakayama, but from Nagoya, and I moved to Shirahama in 2010, and I remember being extremely refreshed and moved when I walked the Kumano Kodo path for the first time. I have originally been a thought therapist for over 10 years now, and I love helping people feel better in mind and body. Later, when I learned that Kumano was a place of revival, I thought it would be fun to contribute something to people together with Kumano, so I became a Kumano Kodo guide.

Kumano is a place of revival where you can throw away what you don’t need and become a new you just by walking. The seasonal nature and mountain flowers are truly beautiful, and there are many miracles in nature. Furthermore, it is a place where you can experience a sense of oneness with the deities of Kumano.

Why don’t you come and walk the Kumano Kodo with me?
